The Casual Dinner Party Game

What is Convivium?

Convivium is a fun cooking game that ensures an incredible meal while fostering social interaction and friendly competition. Developed by John and Amy Frank, the game is an excellent idea for the host that wants to offer a hassle free dinner party without the need of a large budget. Whether old friends or new acquaintances, your guests are sure to enjoy the competition for finish line positions that determine who will win and who will be cooking and serving in the kitchen!

What's Included with the Game

The standard game includes the board, game play cards, instructions, invitation postcards, finish line recipe cards, ingredient list and the Mexican Fiesta Dinner menu (other menus can be downloaded for free). The host invites 4-8 guests and instructs them on what ingredients to bring. The host may elect to provide all of the ingredients.

The game may be played as an entire meal or just one course or round.

How do you play the game?

The goal of the game is to be the first player or team to advance from the starting line to the finish line, which then allows the team to select a desired dinner party duty for that round (or course of the meal). Convivium is played in 3 separate rounds. Each round has a new winner with new instruction cards for the kitchen.

The finish line positions include:

Participants complete all cooking after playing each round using the finish line instruction cards. The Game often gets interesting as teams position for various responsibilities for that particular course.

Get ready for a great evening! Convivium is designed to facilitate conversation during that game as well as prepare a 3-course meal. This makes for a complete evening so set aside approximately 45 minutes for each round if you want to play the entire game (if you want a shorter game you can reduce the number of rounds - it's completely up to you).
