How Convivium Started
The birth of the Convivium board game resulted simply from our enjoyment of entertaining and our love of cooking. We invented the game to provide a fun-filled environment, to encourage our guests to feel comfortable in our home, and to experience the camaraderie of cooking together in the kitchen.
The game began as a hobby, and we had a ball! Friends and family enjoyed our Convivium gatherings so much that they encouraged us to file for a patent, and we officially introduced the game at the April 2002 Food and Gourmet Show in San Francisco. Since that day we have been overwhelmed by the response of hundreds of people that have played the game across the country.
Our hope is our Mission:
To provide a new entertainment product line that brings people together in all homes across America while fostering social interaction, friendly competition, and culinary responsibilities resulting in a casual dinner party atmosphere.
Now, more than ever, we see a yearning to gather in homes to share hospitality and rewarding moments. We urge people to live life to the fullest, and that includes spending quality time together in a warm, welcoming environment. We make that easy by providing a pre-planned dinner party. No menus to plan, no entertainment to dream up – just wholesome (and delicious) fun!
Happy Entertaining,
John and Amy Franks
